Really Sweet Football Romance

The link to this book was in an email I got this week, and as it was free I thought I’d download it. I have never heard of ME Carter before and I have to say the book was really good.

The book is told from the point of view of Jason, a successful American football player. He’s a die hard bachelor because he loves football so much and it takes so much of his attention and commitment he just felt he had nothing left over to have a relationship. He was pretty happy with his life.

Then doing a favour for an old friend he met a little boy, Jaxon, a 7 year old who just lost his Dad a few months earlier. He clicked with this little boy and felt like he wanted to help him out and show him some support, as he too lost his father at a similar age.

When he arranged to take Jaxon around the Stadium he was very surprised when he met Addison, Jaxon’s mother, and was knocked out by her.

This very sweet story had some very tender and poignant moments in it. I liked that Jason and Jaxon’s relationship was a separate entity from his attraction to Addison. I also like that he respected Addison so much that he wanted to ensure she was comfortable with the situation at all times. I also like that he was human and did screw up occasionally.

I loved the scenes with Deuce, Jason’s best friend, who was an hilarious character. Their relationship was brilliant, so funny, supportive and of course borderline insulting!

All the friendships in the book were really great. Both Jason and Addison had supportive people in their lives that looked out for them. Most of all I loved Jaxon, who was this funny, energetic and sweet kid.

All in all it was a funny and sweet romance. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for other books by this author.
