Review: Touch Of Regret (The Collectors Series Book 1) by Autumn Reed

Touch Of Regret Touch Of Regret by Autumn Reed
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

VERY Slow Build Reverse Harem

I read this because I like reverse harem books. It did state in the blurb that it was a slow build but there were a grand total of two kisses in the entire book, that doesn’t really count as an RH book to me.

Adele has psychometric powers. No one knows except her deceased mother, who had similar powers. She’s been alone with her secret, afraid to touch anyone for years until one day she finds a locket with an address. This starts her on a path that introduces her to a group of other psychically talented people. This group automatically embraces this total stranger. However she is instantly exposed to The Collectors, a shadowy organisation who collect psychics for their own ends. The Collectors won’t take no for an answer.

The book is based around an interesting concept but I just couldn’t connect with the characters. I didn’t really sympathise with any of them because there was no real depth to them.

It seemed to take ages for the story to get going and then suddenly in the last 15% of the book I started to engage with the plot. Then of course it ended on a cliffhanger, which I always find annoying. However, even that added interest in the later stages of the book is not enough for me to get the next book in the series.
