Review: Home Forever (Texas Knights MC Series Book 1) by Cee Bowerman

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sweet MC Romance

I seem to be on a bit of an MC kick at the moment and this popped up as a recommended series to read. I decided to start at the beginning and found a really sweet MC romance.

Carlie is moving back to Rojo, Texas after an 11 year absence. Her life is finally getting back on track after the trauma of recent years and she can’t wait to see the people she loved but had to leave behind.

Sam has been waiting to find out what happened to Carlie for 11 years. He’s never been able to find someone who could make him feel the way Carlie did and hates never knowing what happened to make her leave without warning.

Carlie returns with her uncle, her friend/assistant Lisa and her rescue pit bull, Tuff, desperate to start the rest of her life.

This is a sweet romance and the MC is of the ‘doing good’ variety, which about community and supporting those less fortunate. The trouble that comes is from the outside and is nothing to do with the MC. In fact the MC isn’t very front and centre in this book, it’s just there around the edges of the story.

I really enjoyed the book, which sounds odd for a 3 star review, but it was a good book, there just wasn’t much tension or progression of the characters. Bad things were talked about but didn’t seem to have much impact on the characters or their journey. This is not necessarily a bad thing, if you are looking for a nice soothing escape from reality without any angst, which I sometimes am. I will probably read other books in the series when I’m in the same mood, though according to star ratings this was the lowest rated book in the series.
