Review: Bleacke's Geek (Bleacke's Shifters Series Book 1) by Lesli Richardson

Bleacke's Geek Bleacke's Geek by Lesli Richardson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Refreshingly Different Paranormal Romance

Dewi Bleake is a Prime Alpha female wolf shifter. She’s also head enforcer for her brother’s pack in the Florida area. She is tough, competent and ruthless. On a job, taking out an evil piece of work, she scents her mate.

Dr Heathcliffe McKenzie Etherlbert is a professor at the local university. He is quiet, unassuming and insecure. He’s in a bar grading papers when a stunning woman drags him to the bathroom for sex, before shooting a strange man and whisking him away to her home. ‘Ken’ as Dewi decides to call him, is dragged into a new world in a state of shock and surprisingly quick acceptance.

I really enjoyed this book. It turned a lot of PNR tropes on it’s head by having the alpha in the relationship being a woman who sweeps the human male off his feet. I particularly enjoyed how finding each other started to transform the couple into much more happy and balanced people, as they found acceptance from the person they loved. The author reveals their past and their personalities with a deft hand and it makes this an emotionally satisfying read.

I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series as the characters established in this book continue on their journey and we learn more about them, the people they care about and the world in which they live.
