Review: Sea Dragon’s Destiny (Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco Series Book 6) by Ava Ward

Sea Dragon’s Destiny Sea Dragon’s Destiny by Ava Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve been waiting for this book with baited breath, since the previous book was released. The books in this series are consistently read in the week of release because I love them so much. This book was not a disappointment and has left me in a similar state of longing for the next book.

In this book Layla is at the hotel in Paris without her bound dragons. Her Royal Storm dragon is acting as Regent in his mother’s court and Adrian and Dusk are dealing with the fallout from the death of the Crystal King. Reginald is still in his father’s court trying to prove his worth. So Layla is left trying to manage the Paris Hotel and the budget is showing the effects of the Head Courtier, Reginald’s, loss. When Adrian asks Layla to go to North Harbour, Reginald’s home, to see a contact who might have developed technology to find Hunter, she is persuaded to go, not least because she misses him.

This trip challenges Layla deeply and her magic and her mind are attacked multiple times. She has to fight free of her darkness and learn to rely on her bound dragons. More of Hunter’s machinations are revealed, that were started centuries before Layla’s birth. His vision of the future has so many people twisted and battered from his plots and plans.

This book is dark and magical, with the beauty of the Twilight Realm described in all it’s glittering glory. The plot is all encompassing and my mind was wrapped in the world that Layla was plunged into, with very little thought of my escape. I was a willing captive and didn’t stop until the last page was read. There was so much ground covered in this book and we were left with a mighty cliff hanger, even though it was a good point to stop the book. It has left me itching for the next book.

Ava Ward, I love this world and can’t wait to see what you create for Layla next
